Alter Bridge

Alter Bridge is an American hard rock band[1]

from Orlando, but the band is currently based in Atlanta. Formed by Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips (the former members of Creed, minus Scott Stapp), with Myles Kennedy (lead vocals and guitar formerly of The Mayfield Four).

Alter Bridge released their debut album, One Day Remains, on August 10, 2004 along with their first single "Open Your Eyes", which was followed by "Find The Real" and "Broken Wings".

They released their second album, Blackbird on October 9th, 2007. Their first single of the album, "Rise Today", was released on July 30th, 2007. On January 2nd, 2008, "Watch Over You" was officially named the second single for Blackbird.

History

Alter Bridge was formed in 2004 by former Creed members Mark Tremonti, Scott Phillips, and Brian Marshall. Marshall didn't appear on Creed's final album Weathered. He left Creed in 2000 because of differences with singer Scott Stapp, but joined his former bandmates in this project. Singer Myles Kennedy, formerly of The Mayfield Four, joined the Orlando based band later. The band members originally met Kennedy when his former band The Mayfield Four toured with Creed in 1998.

The band juggled several names before settling for Alter Bridge. The name comes from a bridge on Alter Road, close to Tremonti's childhood home. The bridge is at the intersection of Alter and Korte, which forms the border between the city of Detroit, Michigan and the city of Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan. The bridge signified a boundary to Tremonti when he was a child. His parents didn't want him crossing the bridge because the neighborhood on the other side wasn't considered safe enough for him to play as a child. Other names considered for the band include "Downright," "Solace," and "One Day Remains" (which would become the title of their debut album).

The band was signed to Wind-up Records and released said debut album on August 10, 2004. The album produced three hit singles and was certified gold in the US, and platinum internationally. In addition, the song "Metalingus" was modified by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and used as the theme song for Edge, starting in October of that year. About a year later, the band appeared on an episode of WWE RAW in 2005 during Edge's worked shoot feud with Matt Hardy, as they were shown backstage with Edge, who cited them as his good friends.

In April 2006, Alter Bridge announced that they had terminated their contract with Wind-Up Records, securing the rights to much of their studio and live catalog. The reason for the split was because of pressure put on Tremonti, Phillips, and Marshall to reunite with Scott Stapp and reform Creed. By May 25, 2007, they had finished recording of the new album. On July 9, 2007, it was announced that the band was signed by Universal Republic Records.

Their next album, titled Blackbird, was released on October 9, 2007. The first single off the new album is titled "Rise Today," and was released for digital download on July 30, 2007. The song was also the official theme song for WWE's Unforgiven 2007. The music video for "Rise Today" debuted October 4, 2007 on the Yahoo! Music website.

Zenni Optical

Visiting an optometrist is expensive. When I was just getting my drivers license I failed the eye or visual examination so I have to go to an optometrists. I paid almost 350$ for the check-up and eyeglass. That’s a lot of money. I really need a new pair of eyeglasses so I tried to search online. Then I found a Zenni Optical $8 Rx Glasses. That’s right! Complete single vision eyeglasses starting at $8.00. Great deal!
Now we're into week two or so. They recommended other frames, I found a totally different set that would work and they OK'd my choice via telephone. Great! but no. One fellow says: ok, your lenses are ready and being shipped. Another female employee in sales doesn't know anything about it and will call me right back but gee she's on a call right now.

THEN we had: oh, uh, the manager (who speaks Mandarin Chinese and Can communicate with the lab) is out sick since . But it's OK, he'll call just as soon as he gets back!! OK?! Bye!

Meanwhile, to their credit they Did refund $10 because the frames changed. But it's not important that I'd been waiting over a month, eh, and had a recital (I'm a violin student..) coming up very soon... and wearing a half-pair of glasses just doesn't LOOK very good when you're on stage; at least I don't Think so. Zenni is the best Thing Found: Zenni Optical

So my question is: is Zenni-thing done correctly at this place?
I wonder. I also wonder if they have other $19 eyeglass websites.

Moral of the story: Do your Homework! Go find a site like BadBusinessBureau and check out that internet store beFORE you buy. it's Great Discovery: Zenni Optical to Find a blog or two or three that talks about whatever it is you want to purchase and pick a webmerchant that has received good press.

Maroon 5 - Won't Go Home Without You

The Bottom Line

The most refreshing aspect of Maroon 5's 3rd single from the album It Won't Be Soon Before Long is that it is an aural change of pace from the violence implied by the previous single "Wake Up Call." Adam Levine sings sweetly and the song promotes an easy sing along. However, the Police-inspired bassline introduces a mildly disquieting paranoia.

Blink-182

Blink-182 (also known as blink-182 or blink 182) was an American rock trio that played pop punk and punk rock music. The band was originally formed in 1992 by Tom DeLonge (vocals and guitar) and Mark Hoppus (bass and vocals) who quickly recruited Scott Raynor (drums) in Poway, California, a northern suburb of San Diego. Originally, the band's official name was "Blink". However, the numerical three digit suffix was appended early in their career following an objection from an Irish band with the same name. Travis Barker replaced Raynor on drums in 1998, midway through a U.S. tour. Delonge left the group in early 2005, with the band portraying it as an "indefinite hiatus" and virtually ceasing to exist. DeLonge went on to play alternative rock in a band called Angels & Airwaves, while Hoppus and Barker continued in a similar genre with their band +44.

Blink-182 was known for their catchy, simple melodies, teen angst, and lyrical toilet humor. Songwriters Hoppus and DeLonge cite punk rock bands such as NOFX, The Descendents, and Screeching Weasel[8] as their early influences, however, the band's songwriting and production was driven by a pop sensibility and they were primarily known for popular hits such as "All the Small Things", "Feeling This", "Adam's Song", "What's My Age Again", "The Rock Show", "Dammit" and "I Miss You".

Angels and Airwaves is embarking on their first ever North American tour, and the band is offering their biggest fans an opportunity to buy presale tickets to most of the shows before they go on sale to the public!
